If you’re considering a move to the Capitol Region, let me say from experience that it’s a great place to live! I grew up in this area, but moved away after college. After 16 years living in Southern California, I returned  in 1997, and I believe it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The crime, congestion and traffic associated with most major metropolitan areas rarely even rise to "minor annoyance" status here. We have the lowest unemployment rate in the State, a rate much lower than the country as a whole, and a burgeoning high tech industry. We have waterfront homes and homes with acreage, all within an easy commute. We’ve got stately Victorians and Brownstones in city settings close to all of the action.  We’ve got all of this and more! 

We’re about 150 miles to either New York City or Boston, and we sit at the foothills of the Adirondacks. There’s lots to do year round, with lakes and rivers for boating, plenty of snow nearby for skiing and snowmobiling, and mountains for hiking and camping. The Saratoga Performing Arts Center books world renown acts each summer, from ballet to rock and roll, and the Thoroughbred  horse racing season in Saratoga is the social event of the summer from mid-July thru August at one of the most beautiful tracks in the Country.  Does business require you to travel a lot?  The newly renovated Albany International Airport makes getting around the country easy, and it’s consistently rated as one of the more affordable airports from which to travel.
